The Taquari River is one of the most important tributaries of the Paraguay River, whose sediments are carried and deposited on the plain forming the largest alluvial fan in the world, known as Pantanal. In the floodplain, the course of the river has been modified by the sedimentation process, resulting in lakes with different degrees of connectivity with the river. This study assessed the influence of connectivity on the physical and chemical characteristics of water along a hydrological cycle in oxbow lakes of the Taquari River floodplain, in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Sampling was carried out monthly, from May 2005 to June 2006.The physical and chemical data of the water and the variables of river level and rainfall intensity were correlated by Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Limnological differences resulted from distinct degrees of connectivity between the oxbow lakes and the Taquari River. Variations in the dry and rainy seasons established a gradient that extends over a space-time continuum and generates greater environmental heterogeneity and, consequently, greater biodiversity. Thus we conclude that this mosaic of lakes and the surrounding landscape requires protection and preservation because of its importance for biodiversity conservation.

1 Poluição do ar e efeitos na saúde de crianças na Amazônia paraense: uma análise bibliométrica Air pollution and effects on the health of children in the Amazon region of para: a bibliometric Analysis Contaminación del aire y efectos sobre la salud de los niños en la región amazónica de Pará: un análisis bibliométrico Resumo O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar a produção científica circunjacente sobre do termo "Sociedade, Ambiente e Saúde" por meio de um estudo bibliométrico, com pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, e de uma discussão conceitual e que transpassa o tema em seu contexto social, econômico e ambiental. No empenho de identificar o que já foi publicado sobre poluição do ar e seus efeitos na saúde de crianças na Amazônia brasileira, analisou-se de 2010 a 2018, artigos e demais documentos que continham, além das palavras "Mudanças Climáticas" ou "Climate Change", "Modelagem Climática" ou "Climate Modeling" "Queimadas" ou "Burned", "Poluição do Ar" ou "Air Pollution", "Saúde" ou "Health" e "Brasil" ou "Brazil", no título, resumo, palavras-chave e/ou na introdução, termos associados a macrotemática principal, a exemplo de: "sociedade," "ambiente" e "saúde". As fontes bibliográficas de pesquisa foram as plataformas: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE/PUBMED) e Portal "Dimensions", que faz parte do "Part of the Digital Science (nível internacional); Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e Portal de Periódicos Capes (nível nacional) e a nível local, na Biblioteca Lourenço José Tavares Vieira da Silva (TCC e Dissertação), nos sítios da PROPED (Projetos de Pesquisa) e da PROEX (Projetos e Programas de Extensão) e na página oficial dos cursos de graduação e pós-graduação, analisando as disciplinas (obrigatórios e eletivas) regidas nos PPC's, da Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia -Campus Parauapebas-PA. Na análise,foram inclusos 178 artigos a nível internacional, 59 artigos a nível nacional e, por fim, a nível local sendo, 20 projetos de pesquisa, 5 projetos de extensão, 1 programa de extensão e 29 disciplinas reminiscentes dos cursos. O resultado demonstrou que a relação entre Sociedade, Ambiente e Saúde é discutida de forma indissociável e apresenta evolução crescente na literatura, uma vez que seus conceitos estão demasiados em debater a causa e efeito de determinado desfecho. Embora, quanto ao nível local, cursos padronizados como "tecnológicos" apresentaram perfil formador equidistantes a macrotemática, por insuficiência de disciplinas com abordagens econômicas-sociais-ambientais. Contudo, essa perspectiva que se abre de estudos conectados por meio de uma revisão integrativa ainda é bastante contemporânea. Nesse atual panorama de mudanças políticas, sobretudo, gerindo uma crise humanitária, há uma necessidade de estudos interdisciplinares e abordagens integradas na análise e solução de problemas de Ambiente e Saúde, principalmente, na Amazônia. The objective of this study was to evaluate the regimes of temperature and rainfall in Belém, PA, Brazil, with emphasis on the start of the dry season in order to provide planning support for agricultural activities during years of climatic anomolies in the region. An initial analysis was done of the metropolitan region of Belém comparing it to the typology of Amazonian climates using rainfall data from 1971 to 2014 and creating an annual index of precipitation anomolies (AIPA). The temperature regime was described using a homogeneous rainfall dataset from 1990 to 2014. The hydrological balance was estimated for the period 1990 to 2014 using an index of capacity of soil water availability equal to 100 mm to identify the months with deficit or excess of soil water. Box plots were analyzed by decade and maximums of daily rainfall for the month of August were used. The Pareto principle was applied to 9 indices to assess the effects of rainfall quantity in relation to anomalous years. Although the metropolitan region of Belém is for the most part categorized by the Af2 climate type it is possible to have prolonged soil water deficit from August through November, an effect that is intensified by the El Niño phenomenon. Furthermore, in the month of August there were years with extreme rainfall events, such as that of August 7th, 2010 where 72.4 mm of rainfall occurred representing 53% of total monthly rainfall. This event can be explained by the intense waves of humidity coming from the East that amplified local rainfall. During the last two decades extreme daily rainfall events have become more frequent, and rainfall reductions in the region have tended to intensify in areas that historically receive less rainfall such as the transition between the Amazonian and Savannah biomes. Therefore, in La Niña or El Niño years, the month of August can be considered to be the signal for meso-and large-scale atmospheric mechanisms that influence precipitation regimes and that can have a negative effect of the region's agricultural productivity.
