“…To further evaluate the enzyme cross-linking on the surface of Fe 3 O 4 @Chitosan, their FTIR spectra were also obtained. The FTIR spectra of chitosan and Fe 3 O 4 are well documented [23,24]. Figure 3 shows the FTIR spectra obtained for Fe 3 O 4 @Chitosan, Fe 3 O 4 @Chitosan@Proteins, and free enzymes.…”

“…The FTIR‐ATR experiments were performed to investigate the interaction between the CS, PVA, and mGO, and the spectrums were presented in Figure 3 a. In this system, genipin was the crosslinking agent for CS and two reaction processes were involved: one was the reaction of an amino group on CS with an ester group of genipin to form an amide; the second was the nucleophilic attack of the amino group of CS on the olefinic carbon atom of genipin, resulting in the opening of the dihydropyran ring and the formation of a tertiary amine 8,29. The spectrum of CS after crosslinking showed an absorption at 1556 cm −1 characteristics of NH deformation, which was probably due to the formation of secondary amides as the reaction of genipin and chitosan.…”

“…Genipin is a kind of biological cross-linking agent extracted from gardenia. It has been reported that the PVA/ CS hybrid hydrogels crosslinked by genipin presented a good mechanical property and genipin was five to ten thousand times less cytotoxic than glutaraldehyde, [8] indicating that genipin is a better crosslinker for PVA/CS wound dressing.…”
