Induction of Resistance in Tomato Plants Against Tomato mosaic tobamovirus Using Beneficial Microbial Isolates

Abstract: The possibility of making use of the phenome non of Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) to control viruses achieved by the soaking treatment of tomato seeds cv. Castl Rock with three growth forms to Bacillus circulans, Pseudomonas fluorescens 2 and Trichoderma harzianum against Tomato mosaic tobamovirus (ToMV) infection. All the application forms of beneficial biotic inducers were reduced the mean number of ToMV local lesions on Datura metel. P. fluorescens 2 was found to be the best treatment in three forms on… Show more

“…The first is that it reduces osmotic stress by increasing osmolyte concentrations and phytohormone signals like indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and gibberellic acid (GA3) (Zhang et al, 2020). The second goal is to achieve ion homeostasis and improve nutritional absorption in order to reduce ion stress and nutrient deficiency (Assaha et al, 2017;Megahed et al, 2013). The third objective is to reduce oxidative stress by increasing photosynthetic capacity (Wang et al, 2020).…”

“…In addition, the mean growth inhibition percentage was about 100 for all fungal isolates. Also, ZnO-NPs may have antiviral activity against several types of viruses such as Cucumovirus and tobamovirus, and treat many of viral diseases such as Fruit Tree Viroid Diseases, Citrus Gummy Bark Disease and Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid [74][75][76][77][78] . Other researchers successfully prepared a new compound called polyquaternary phosphonium oligochitosans (PQPOCs) to be used as a natural synergistically bio reductant compound to reduce silver (Ag + ) ions into silver nanoparticles and as a stabilizing factor for these silver nanoparticles to manufacture PQPOCs-AgNPs Nano-biocompunds for use as an antiviral 79 .…”

“…Tobamovirus is the largest genus in the family Virgaviridae [11,12]. Belonging to this genus, ToMV is a disease agent with a linear single-stranded RNA genome and has rod-shaped virions.…”
