The Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a seasonal infection prevalent in coastal areas whose intensity varies among various age groups. Escherichia coli is one of the major causative organisms. The current study is to the frequency of UTI in the Coastal region; understand the recent advances in alternative treatment & their efficacy. The known medication for the UTI is quinolones and cephalosporin. Cranberry extract is the only medicine used from a plant source that is expensive and not native to India. The main cause of UTI to spread is a lack of hygiene, sexual intercourse, and inadequate consumption of water. Change in the pH of the urethra during puberty & menopause in women facilitates the growth of opportunistic Uropathogens. Innate immunity can also contribute to the resistance of the body but a recent study says that infection rate varies among individuals considering their age, immunity, and lifestyle. The pathogens causing UTI are developing resistance against multiple drugs. From this study, we understand that Cranberry is the only plant source for the treatment of UTI in combination with antibiotics. There is a need to understand the importance of improving innate immunity and to know the best treatment regime to treat UTI.

Herpes zoster (HZ) is a disease caused by the activation of the virus in the latent phase. The name of the virus is varicella-zoster virus (VZV). This virus remains in the dorsal root ganglia, the collection of neuronal cell bodies. It is known as reactivation because it is a secondary infection. The main or the old infection is chickenpox; it generally occurs in the early stages of life. This secondary infection is caused in the later stages of life in old age patients; if the patient is immunocompromised, this type of infection can cause death or make the patient unconscious. But in the world, many people have a variety of standard or uncommon signs and symptoms of this disease based on their body, diet, area, or even genetic features. This Herpes Zoster acts on the immune response called cell-mediated immunity and decreases it rapidly with the advance of age of the person. In the coming years, the incidences of this disease are gradually increasing because of the weakening of the immune system. The incidences also happened in people with defective immunity of cell-mediated type or due to the abuse of certain drugs. The herpes zoster is caused to the immunosuppressed patient more quickly than the average population. As there is no immune system to defend the body, some secondary infections can also be induced in these conditions and lead to death. This multiple infection can make a differential diagnosis. This review explains and understands the herpes zoster virus causing different complications in the body and other clinical things related to immunocompromised patients.

Background: The steady decrease of kidney function is referred to as chronic kidney disease. The kidney function is measured by Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR). According to Ayurveda the CKD can be correlated to Mutraghatabecause of similarity of symptoms. In Ayurveda Mutraghata is described under Mutrarogawhich comes under Mutravahastrotas (urinary system). Objective: To assess and compare the efficacy of Bruhatyadikwath, Furosemide and Bruhatyadikwath along with Furosemide on symptoms, eGFR, and Albuminuria in various stages of Chronic Kidney Disease. Methodology: Total 90 patients will be divided in 3 equal groups. Patients in group A will be treated with Bruhatyadikwatha, group B patients will be treated with Furosemide and patients in group C will be treated with Bruhatyadikwatha and Furosemide for 90 days. Follow up will be taken after every 30 days. Expected Results: Furosemide along with Bruhatayadikwath will show better improvement in e-GFR and Albuminurea as compared to only treated with Bruhatyadikwath and Furosemide. Assessment of subjective criteria like edema, anorexia, weakness and vomiting will be done on day 0, 30, 60 and 90 whereas assessment of Serum creatinine, Blood Urea, Sr. Sodium, Sr. Potassium, eGFR (Cockcroft formula) and Albuminuria will be done before and after treatment (on 0 and 90th day). Result: Subjective and objective outcomes will be assessed by statistical analysis. Conclusion: It will be drawn from the result obtained.
