“…This is in contrast to the most common ocular adnexal lymphoma subtype, extranodal marginal zone lymphoma, which appears to be relatively less frequently located in the lacrimal gland (Ferry et al 2007;Sjo et al 2008). However, in the present series, there was no difference regarding histological grading, growth pattern and translocation rate between the ocular adnexal region sites.…”

“…This nation-based study represents the largest series published of unselected patients with ocular adnexal follicular lymphoma. The data confirm that follicular lymphoma is relatively rare, although it constitutes the second most common low-grade lymphoma subtype of this anatomical region (Coupland et al 2004;Ferry et al 2007;Sjo et al 2008).…”

“…lymphomas of the orbit, eyelids, conjunctiva, lacrimal gland and lacrimal sac) constitute 2% of all extranodal lymphomas (Freeman et al 1972) and are the most common malignant tumours of the orbit (Shields et al 2004). Likewise, lymphomas involving the conjunctiva are relatively common (Coupland et al 2004;Ferry et al 2007;Sjo¨et al 2008). Lymphomas involving these two sites are well described in the literature (Knowles & Jakobiec 1980;Bessell et al 1988;Esik et al 1996;Shields et al 2001;Martinet et al 2003;Meunier et al 2006).…”

“…Lacrimal gland lymphomas are also rare, representing 7-26% of ocular adnexal lymphomas (Jenkins et al 2003;Coupland et al 2004;Sjo¨et al 2008). However, 37% of all malignant tumours of the lacrimal gland are lymphomas (von Holstein et al 2012).…”
