In Vitro Propagation of Anthurium adreanum cv. Nitta through Organogenesis

Abstract: Anthurium adreanum Lindl. cv. Nitta is an ornamental plant for cut flower industries. In vitro propagation enables a large scale production of high quality seedlings of A. adreanum quickly. The aim of this experiment was to overcome some problems in the in vitro propagation of A. adreanum, such as contamination, lack of plantlets vigor and low rate of survival in the acclimatization. In vitro propagation of A. adreanum was conducted via organogenesis from leaf explant. Explant sterilization using desogerm, ant… Show more

“…In addition, tissue culture systems are considered safe for germplasm exchange in international schemes. A smaller sample size has made the cultures can be transferred in sterile conditions (Rodrigues, Arruda, & Forti, 2018;Saptari, Sinta, & Budiani, 2017).…”

“…Several protocols are available in the scientific literature for the production of micropropagated plantlets of Anthurium andraeanum via organogenesis (ISLAM et al, 2010;GU et al, 2012;CARDOSO;HABERMANN, 2014;AJDARBIN et al, 2015;BHATTACHARYA et al, 2015;PERERA et al . ;2016;GUADALUPE;MAYANIN, 2017;PRAKASHA et al, 2017;SAPTARI et al, 2017;THOKCHOM;MAITRA, 2017;ZHANG et al, 2017). Silva et al (2015) state that the MS growth medium (MURASHIGE;SKOOG, 1962) is the most often used in the in vitro propagation of anthurium.…”
