The study on the use of podcast as a technology-mediated method or medium to increase EFL students’ interest is still limited. Generally, some studies focus more on the effects of using podcast on students’ listening and speaking skills. The present study aimed at examining the effect of podcast in English language learning towardss EFL students’ interest by analyzing their attitudes to podcast. The study was carried out using a quantitative method by employing a cross-sectional survey. Data collection was employed through a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using a descriptive statistics to measure the frequency percentages. The results indicated that the tertiary students’ showed a very positive attitude towardss the use of podcast to influence EFL students’ interest. Four findings were suggested, namely the willingness of using podcast, courage to encourage EFL learning engagements and language proficiency, podcasts as appropriate and fun learning media providing varied materials, and podcast as a the portable, open-accessed and efficient medium. The findings of the present study are significant to present the Info-Tech-based alternative language learning media and sources or as complementary resources and the innovative and interesting sources can motivate to engage more. Podcasts is the complementary medium and authentic materials for empowering English engagements and increasing interest.

<p><em>Information technology-based learning is currently very much required by educators in the learning process, this is due to the Covid-19 pandemic condition which forces the learning process to be carried out through distance education or commonly called online. The online learning process is quite difficult for educators to monitor students’ motivation, independence and critical thinking skills. One of the efforts to carry out the online learning process is to use e-learning media by edmodo platform. Edmodo is a social network-based learning platform that can help educators and students in the virtual learning process by prioritizing the privacy of students. This study aims to analyze the use of e-learning media by edmodo platform and its relation to students’ motivation, independence and critical thinking skills. This study used meta-analysis method. The population was 21 articles that examine the application of edmodo in learning while the sample was 16 articles taken by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used the effect size calculation technique by Glass. The result showed that the edmodo platform application in learning had an effect on increasing students’ motivation, independence and critical thinking skills. The effect of edmodo platform application is higher on students’ critical thinking skills with an effect size value of 0,43 (medium effect), followed by students’ motivation of 0,24 (small effect) and students’ independence of 0,11(negligible effect).</em></p>

Whether it is recognized or not, religion is the most influencing factor in many social conflict phenomena. An unbalanced understanding of religion is suspected of being one of the triggers. Thus, efforts are needed to educate the public about good religious behaviour so that people understand that religion's existence is to create harmony in life, not contrary to incite hostility. Pesantren is one of the alternatives which is expected to be a way out to untangle the tangled threads of religious issues that have become a classic problem in Indonesia today. Pesantren have an essential role in realizing peace in heterogeneous life, namely through prophetic education. One of the pesantren that applies a predictive education pattern is Pesantren An Najah Purwokerto. This research is qualitative, to analyze prophetic teaching at Pesantren An Najah Purwokerto to prevent religious radicalism and describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of prophetic education at Pesantren An Najah Purwokerto. The results showed that the application of prophetic teaching at Pesantren An Najah Purwokerto through several activities, including (1) Introducing the concept of "liyan" or the other in the context of social or community life; (2) Grounding the rationales of the "hubbul wathan" nationalism; (3) Implementing "Peace Education". (4) Religious education based on local culture.
