Improvement of Adsorption Selectivity of Ion-Exchange Chromatography through the Double-Recognition Mode

Abstract: Ion-exchange chromatography (IEC) was combined with molecular imprinting technology (MIT) to prepare two kinds of doublerecognition resins (DEAE@BSA and DEAE@bIgG) using bovine serum albumin (BSA) and bovine immunoglobulin G (bIgG) as the imprinting template proteins. New resins consist of ion-exchange interaction and spatial recognition and were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy−energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry, thermogravimetric analysis, and Brunauer−Emmett−Teller… Show more

“…Thus, man-made IgG-binding materials based on the molecular imprinting technology which could overcome these drawbacks are of significant interest. In the last 10 years, several papers describing different approaches to IgG imprinting have been published: cryogels, 15,16 films, 17,18 hydrogels, 19 interpenetrating polymers, 20 magnetic particles, 21,22 membranes, 23,24 microbeads 25,26 and molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (nanoMIPs) prepared by solid phase synthesis (SPS). 27…”
