The Teacher Profession Education Program (hereafter abbreviated: TPEP) in Indonesia is a program designed to generate professional teachers. Every pre-service teacher must be equipped with adequate hard skills and soft skills before diving into a professional environment. This phenomenological research explored the lecturers' experiences in teaching soft skills to the students of TPEP. This research aims at getting a clear understanding of how soft skills teaching is implemented and what kinds of soft skills have been trained during TPEP. The data in this research were primarily collected through in-depth interviews conducted with 15 teaching lecturers from three universities that hold and organize the TPEP. Data analysis used analytic reduction which started from identifying important statements of the interview results, determining the core theme, and describing the essence of the entire experience. The results found that teaching soft skills with integrated/embedded models was used in the TPEP. Lecture, presentation, assignment, mentoring, and practice methods were used to train the TPEP students' soft skills. While the soft skills that have been trained during the implementation of the TPEP consist of ethics, self-reliance, responsibility, patience, critical thinking skills, communication skills, teamwork, tolerance, and social skills. The future research is expected to develop a criteria-based on integrated soft skills assessment model that can be used to assess the achievement of the acquisition of teachers' soft skills at the end of TPEP.

This study aims to investigate the impacts of soft skills possessed by graduates from a public university on their employment opportunity. Previous studies revealed that soft skills are crucial for their employability. A total of 234 graduates were selected as the sample of this study. The data analysis by SPSS found that employability was positively associated with leadership skills, teamwork skills, and communication skills. Furthermore, leadership skills possessed by graduates have the strongest influence on employment opportunities among the three independent variables. The study adds more information to the current debate in this area and provides practical contributions to the management of the university, particularly in planning various students' upskilling programmes to increase the rate of graduate employability. The findings suggest that the university should focus on leadership, teamwork, and communication skills in the teaching and learning process.

Abstrak: Di dalam perkembangan dunia pendidikan yang terus berubah maka dibutuhkan pemahaman akan gagasan penelitian yang mutakhir. Gagasan peneltiian dalam lingkup pendidikan tinggi tercermin dalam proposal penelitian dimana mengacu Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 12 Tahun 2012 tentang Pendidikan Tinggi (UU No. 12-2012) dijelaskan bahwa didalam mengembangkan bakat, minat serta kemampuan dirinya maka hal tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan kokurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler. Kedua kegiatan itu dapat dilaksanakan melalui organisasi kemahasiswaan. Dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini para mahasiswa mendapatkan pemahaman secara komprehensif akan proposal peneltiian yang memenuhi kualifikasi Ristekdikti. Adanya perancangan proposal penelitian dan pemaparan secara individual menjadikan mahasiswa siap secara maksimal untuk mengetahui apakah penelitian yang digagasnya dapat dilaksanakan secara rasional atau tidak. Abstract: In the development of an ever changing education world, it is necessary to understand the latest research ideas. The idea of research in the scope of higher education is reflected in research proposals which refer to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2012 on Higher Education (Law No. 12-2012) explained that in developing his talents, interests and abilities, this can be done through co-curricular activities. and extracurricular. Both activities can be carried out through student organizations. In this community service students gain a comprehensive understanding of research proposals that meet the Ristekdikti qualifications. The existence of individual research proposal design and presentation makes students optimally prepared to find out whether the research they initiated can be done rationally or not.
