The filter cake is a residue from the sugarcane processing industry and has shown excellent results for its use in fertilizing agricultural crops. The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth and development of okra seedlings produced with different proportions of filter cake as a substrate. The experiment was carried out under greenhouse conditions in a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and five replicates (5x5). The treatments consisted of five proportions for filling the tubes with 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% filter cake. The filter cake was obtained in a sugar and alcohol industry near the municipality of Santa Helena de Goiás. Were evaluated plant height (PH), stem diameter (SD), number of leaves (NL), root length (RL), aerial fresh mass (AFM), fresh root mass (FRM), aerial dry mass (ADM) and the dry root mass (DRM). The data were submitted to analysis of variance by the F test (p <0.05) and in cases of significance, regression analysis was performed for the filter cake proportions, using the SISVAR statistical software. The fertilization with filter cake on okra seedlings was significant at the level of 5% probability for the RL and 1% probability for PH, SD, NL, AFM, FRM, ADM, DRM. The maximum PH, SC, NL, RL, AFM, ADM, DRM was obtained with the filter cake proportions of 55.83; 49.58; 35.55; 47.25; 50.17; 48.5; 58.5 and 45.00%. The use of residues from the sugar and alcohol industry can be used for fertilizing okra seedlings. It is recommended to use the ratio of 55% filter cake and 45% soil, in that dose the okra seedlings show the best growth and development.

A escassez de recursos hídricos tem impulsionado o estabelecimento de formas prioritárias para o uso dos recursos de boa qualidade e a adoção de fontes alternativas de água, como a proveniente do reuso. O setor agrícola é o que mais consome água, cerca de 70% da água utilizada no país, destacando-se o uso para a saciedade do seu grande plantel e para a irrigação das culturas. A irrigação teve um fundamental papel no desenvolvimento agrícola do país e para a garantia da segurança alimentar, possibilitando a produção em locais com características edafoclimáticas inadequadas. A irrigação com água residuária tem demonstrado uma alternativa extremamente viável tanto do ponto de vista ambiental, como nutricional para a planta. Este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer a produção científica relacionada ao uso de água residuária na agricultura, sua evolução, áreas de concentração e possíveis lacunas. A amostra é composta por 3555 artigos científicos, desenvolvidos no período entre 1970 e 2021. Essa amostra foi analisada quantitativamente, com apoio de redes bibliométricas. O estudo mostra que o número de publicações sobre o tópico pesquisado tem ampliado nos últimos anos, que a principal área de concentração dos estudos é a área Ambiental seguida pela área de Agrárias e Biológicas, mostrou ainda que os Estados Unidos se destacam no desenvolvimento de estudos sobre a temática, seguidos pela China. O Brasil assume uma posição insipiente na temática. O estudo possibilitou identificar as redes de colaboração no desenvolvimento da produção científica, bem como as lacunas temporais para a produção de novos estudos e discussões sobre o uso de água residual na agricultura.

The aim of this work was to evaluate the soil chemical parameters and microbiological quality of biquinho pepper fruits irrigated with treated wastewater and different irrigation depths. The experiment was carried out in protected environment with the application of four irrigation depths corresponding to 50, 75, 100 and 125% of the crop evapotranspiration with three concentrations of 0, 50 and 100% of treated wastewater in the cultivation of biquinho pepper in pots. The experimental design was in randomized blocks in a 3 x 4 factorial scheme, totaling 12 treatments, with three replications. The soil chemical parameters were determined before and after the growing the pepper with treated wastewater. Reference evapotranspiration (ETo) was estimated by the FAO Penman-Monteith method using data obtained from an Automatic Weather Station installed inside the protected environment. The microbiological quality was analyzed by quantifying fecal coliforms and the presence of Salmonella sp. recommended by Brazilian National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA). All pepper samples were in accordance with the limits recommended by the legislation and, therefore, the use of wastewater in pepper irrigation did not represent a risk to public health. The soil chemical parameters were changed in different ways after the application of the treated wastewater, being motivated by both soil and wastewater chemical characteristics.
