Immunomodulatory effect of Premna odorata volatile oils in Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB pathway

Abstract: VOs extracted from Premna odorata have anti-TB activity by acting on TLR-4/NFκB signaling pathway through decreasing the serum levels of TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL1-β and the mRNA expression levels of TLR-4 & NF-κB, and increasing IL-10 & TAC. Understanding the mechanism and the signaling pathway involving in the anti-tuberculosis activity will help a lot in preparation of new drugs against TB.

“…The extract was additionally concentrated using reduced pressure to give a syrupy consistency utilizing a rotary evaporator (Buchi Rotavapor R-300, Cole-Parmer, Vernon Hills, IL, USA), kept at 45 • C to afford 20.0 g crude extract. Moreover, this was maintained at 4 • C for biological and metabolomic studies [38,[59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71].…”
