“…In accordance with prior research and statements, the teaching and learning environment of speaking skill has been constructed in the classroom by the instructors, and the pre-observation has been carried out in the current study. The researchers investigated many sorts of illocutionary acts, which are regarded as the act of doing something (Hariati et al, 2020), and depend on social agreement (Chankova, 2019), the speaker should utter anything with intended significance to the hearer depending on the context and natural reality while conducting an illocutionary act (Rahayu et al, 2018), employed throughout the teaching and learning process that among Holmes' (2013) concepts and Searle's (1999) types of illocutionary acts whereas three speech utterances were productive such as expressive, directive, and referential, but the rest of them were not. This study aims to assess and analyse the sorts of speech functions used by teachers in the tenth grade at one vocational high school in Jambi, Indonesia, and to identify the most prevalent kind. The study was carried out using descriptive qualitative research and descriptive analysis design. In this study, data were triangulated through observation and documentation. The study's targets were English teachers, and the transcribed data was divided into three categories of language functions. Holmes' concept is applied to classify speech functions. There are three types of utterance functions: expressive, imperative, and referential. The results showed that out of 60 speech functions, the directive function was applied by instructors the most frequently, accounting for 31 of them (51.66%). Directive one is the main reason, as it delivers interaction by directing and requesting the student. The study recommends that there are still many types of speech functions, but alternatively, directives are more prominent. Other researchers can gather data from many sources, including Instagram's English-language account, an English newspaper or magazine, and many more. The current study encourages English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers to complete a task and determine an assignment for future research. Given the implications of directive functions for English teachers in teaching speaking skills and the ability to inquire about something and command and request learners to perform something.

Lexical Anglicism is the use of English terms or expressions. Phonetic Anglicism is a mispronunciation, such as pronouncing zoo as [zo]. This study aims to analyze how Emmanuel Macron and François Hollande use Anglicism in their speeches. A loanword that is English in the form, including spelling, sound, and morphology — that's what we call an "Anglicism". The main topic of this research is phonetic and lexical Anglicism. The research methodology combines qualitative descriptive analysis with content analysis. According to sources, content analysis is made possible by recording, concluding and analyzing the English speeches of Francois Hollande and Emmanuel Macron, which were uploaded on YouTube. The main topic of this research is phonetic and lexical Anglicism. The next step after collecting the data is to analyze it. The study results using anglicisms in 5 videos of Emmanuel Macron's speeches on YouTube 32 data. In comparison, the use of anglicisms in 5 videos of François Hollande's speeches on YouTube is lacking, namely 9 data. The speeches of Macron and Hollande contain 41 anglicisms, of which the words of anglicisms can be classified into five categories: nouns (28), verbs (3), abbreviations (7), adjectives (2) and interjections (1).

People rarely know the function of the language used in the film. This study analyzes speech acts in a dialogue film entitled Merry Riana: Dreams of a Million Dollars. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data were analyzed from the form of speech acts consisting of direct and indirect speech acts in the form of declarative, imperative, and interrogative. The type of speech act analysis uses Searle's theory of representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declaration. The result of this research is that direct speech act in interrogative form is 43.63%. Direct speech acts in the declarative form are 95 (43.18%), direct speech acts in the imperative form are 24 (10.90%), indirect speech acts in the imperative form are 2 (0.9%), indirect speech acts in imperative form as much as 2 (0.9%). interrogative form is 2 (0.9%), and indirect speech act in declarative form is 1 (0.45%). Furthermore, 74 utterances are analyzed into five types of speech acts. The most dominant representative used 36 (48.6%). Then followed by directive 21 (28.3%), expressive 14 (18.9%), commissive 3 (4.0%), and declarative 0 (0.0%). This research implies that understanding speech acts plays an important role in communication.
