Abstract:A novel technique for rapidly determining properties of the sample matrix of nebulized samples in inductively coupled plasma spectrometry via acoustic signature is discussed. Properties such as surface tension and high dissolved salts can be determined by analyzing the acoustic signal produced by the sample nebulization process. With digital signal processing equipment, determination of the presence of organic matrices or high-salt matrices should be possible before the plasma or the nebulizer is adversely aff… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
