In situpreparation and characterization of novel CuI‐functionalized poly[(methyl methacrylate)‐co‐maleimide] as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst in the regioselective synthesis of 1,2,3‐triazoles via click reaction: Experimental and computational chemistry

Abstract: A CuI‐functionalized poly[(methyl methacrylate)‐co‐maleimide] (CuI@[PMMA‐co‐MI]) nanocatalyst was prepared from in situ polymerization and functionalization of poly[(methyl methacrylate)‐co‐(maleic anhydride)] and well characterized using various techniques. From a computational viewpoint, we assessed two complexation models between copper nanoparticles and [PMMA‐co‐MI]. In this line, the metal–ligand interaction strength was also studied via density functional theory calculations and frontier molecular orbita… Show more

“…PP-MAH was synthesized via in situ bulk polymerization, following our previous work. 30 Initially, polypropylene granules were reacted with maleic anhydride monomer in the presence of dicumyl peroxide as an initiator and acetone as a solvent under a nitrogen atmosphere at 70 °C for 1.5 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction vessel was gradually cooled to room temperature.…”

“…In this line, we have investigated the immobilization behavior of palladium and copper NPs on the modified poly (styrene-co-maleic anhydride) surface. In addition, immobilization of Cu nanoparticles on the aminated and N-sulfamic-aminated KIT-5 nanocatalysts, poly(methyl methacrylate-co-maleimide) support and various functionalized halloysite nanoclays were modeled using quantum chemistry approaches 34,37,[46][47][48][49][50][51][52] . In the recent year, we have assessed metal-ligand interactions in an appropriate designed model of n-hydroxyapatite supported-silver catalyst, functionalized with 4-aminoacetanilide 39 .…”

“…Pourmohammad et al synthesized (CuI@[PMMA-CO-MI]) (0.02 g) nano catalyst and employed them in the synthesis of triazole derivatives using terminal alkynes, α-haloketones or alkyl halides and sodium azide in H 2 O at RT to give 1,4disubstitued 1,2,3-triazoles (24) (Figure 15). The catalyst being heterogenous and regioselective gave high yields in short reaction times [49].…”
