Hydrocephalus following Bilateral Jugular Venous Thrombosis in a Child: Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract: Hydrocephalus resulting from bilateral thrombosis of the jugular veins has been rarely described in the literature. We report the case of an 18-month-old girl who was diagnosed with this condition following total parenteral nutrition. We also review the literature relevant to this subject and discuss the pathophysiology of hydrocephalus in the setting of bilateral jugular venous thrombosis.
