Hybrid Sandwich Particleboard Made with Sugarcane, Pínus Taeda Thermally Treated and Malva Fibre from Amazon

Abstract: A multilayer particleboard panels, consisted of sugarcane bagasse reinforced composite as core material and hybrid composites made with Pinus taeda particles and Malva fibres as facing materials, were designed and evaluated in this work. Tukey test was used to identify the effect of the facing material, considering different combinations of Pinus taeda particles and Malva fibres, on the bulk density, thickness swelling, flexural strength, flexural stiffness and X-ray densitometry. A spray-up process was used t… Show more

“…It was possible through the analysis of mixed model to verify the existence of variability in the anatomical characteristics, i.e., there is a difference among the tested materials (P < 0.01) (Table 1). In addition, these variables showed a quality required for insertion in a breeding program, with the aim of separation of evaluated materials [34]. The heritability and accuracy obtained were high in accordance with the classification made by [31] (Table 1).…”

“…Researches in matter of characterization of tropical wood species need to be further explored, since knowledge in this field is still incomplete, mainly due to growing demand for timber products and consequent the introduction of new fast growing tropical wood species, in recent years [22][23][24][25] . These species present medium to low density and must receive preservation treatment to ensure their durability in service.…”
