Humidity Sensitive Characteristics of ZnO-TiO2-Ta2O5 Ceramic

Abstract: Abstract. The humidity sensing behavior of a ceramic oxide based on the ZnO 2 -TiO 2 -Ta 2 O 5 system was analyzed. Samples were uniaxially pressed and sintered at temperature range from 1000 to 1200 o C. Electrical impedance and capacitance measurements were realized in different values of relative humidity (from 11 to 100%). The microstructures of the sintered samples were characterized by X-ray diffractions and SEM observations. Mercury porosimetry analyses were carried out to determine the open porosity an… Show more

“…Main attention has been devoted to the obtainment of porous ZnO NPTs to be used as host matrices for the subsequent dispersion of TiO 2 nanoparticles, resulting in a suitable morphology for the development of sensing devices. After a morphological, structural, and compositional characterization of the obtained systems as a function of the synthesis conditions, their gas sensing properties have been tested in the detection of VOCs, in particular, CH 3 COCH 3 , CH 3 CH 2 OH, and CO, which are of interest for environmental purposes and food control monitoring. ,, It is worth noticing that only a few studies on the sensing properties of ZnO−TiO 2 -based systems have been performed to date. ,,, …”
