This research aims to determine the increase in reproductive performance of Landrace and Duroc cross sows given additional premix feed. This research was carried out in Br. Belong, Taro Kaja Village, Tegalalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. The crossbreed pigs used are Landrace and Duroc, 2-3 years old, or sows who have given birth 2-3 times. The experimental design used in this research was a completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 3 treatments, namely T0 feed without premix, T1 feed with premix and given to sows starting at 2 month of gestation, and T2 feed with premix and given to sows starting at 3 months of gestation. The average gestation period for the sow is 114 days and the premix dose is 1 kg/ 200 kg of feed. The results showed that the lit- ter size, birth weight, weaning weight, number of piglets weaned, and age at weaning showed significantly different results (P<0.05) in each treatment. Meanwhile, after weaning the sows re-mated, the results were not significantly different (P>0.05). The sow’s ability to maintain the litter size until weaning is very dependent on the quality of the feed given to the gestation of sow, especially feed that supports the sow’s milk production. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that giving premix to sows at 2-3 months of gestation (T2 and T3) can improve the reproduction performance of sows.

Use laboratory animal for research purposes is often used especially in the fields of health research, food, agriculture, and livestock. The laboratory animal that is often used as research objects include rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, monkeys, and rats. Research in the field of livestock in animal breeding requires a long time to research and a large number of animals so mice can be used to apply it. The goal of research is determine effect of the selection program on parameters of mice body weight including weaning weight and adult weight. The research was held with Fancy mice keeping and selection implementation of weaning weight 21 days age (WW21) and 35 days age (AW35) which starts from 0 generation until 2nd generation. The data used in the selection of Fancy mice on 0 generation until 2nd generation each of 327 tails, 330 tails, and 263 tails. The result of the selection of Fancy mice to WW21 increased obtained WW21 G0 to G1 is 3.69 gram and WW21 G1 to G2 is 2.09 gram. Selection of Fancy mice to AW35 that result in AW35 G0 to G1 is 5.14 gram and AW35 G1 to G2 is 4.92 gram, which means selection is impacting increased WW21 and AW35 Fancy mice.

Pig livestock is one of the livestock developed in Indonesia because it can adapt to environmental conditions, has good production and reproduction properties including fast growth so that the body matures and quickly, the number of liters of labor size is large, birth weight and weaning weight are high, meat production is high and can also meet human needs. To meet human needs for protein and the economy, it is necessary to increase the production and productivity of pig livestock by paying attention to reproductive aspects, and nutrition. This study aims to determine the influence of the time interval of male mating in nature which affects the conception rate, liter size, and mortality. This research was carried out in Catur Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency from April to August 2022. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method by mating males at time intervals and observing the results directly. The number of livestock used in this study was 6 landrace sows consisting of 1 sow mated with males at intervals of once a week, 2 heads mated at intervals twice a week, and 3 heads mated at intervals of three times a week. The variables observed in this study were conception rate, liter size, and mortality. The results showed that the interval of mating time influenced the conception rate value and the number of liters of size. The best interval from the results of this study is one mating in a week, namely a conception rate of 100%, the number of liters size 9 heads. And the time interval of mating has no effect on the mortality of the child at birth.
