Contextualización: los sistemas de producción animal en Colombia se caracterizan por la deficiente disposición y calidad de forrajes, en zonas como el piedemonte llanero, debido a las condiciones edafológicas y climáticas de estas zonas . Vacío de conocimiento: el alimento principal de los ovinos es el pasto, pero múltiples factores interfieren en el aprovechamiento y calidad de nutrientes de este. Por eso se requiere investigar al respecto y determinar cuáles son los suplementos adecuados para complementar los requerimientos nutricionales del animal, y por ende mejor su desempeño productivo. Propósito: analizar el aporte nutricional de un suplemento alimenticio con Brachiaria spp. a la dieta de ovinos en pastoreo, evaluando el desempeño productivo y bioquímica sanguínea de estos. Metodología: el diseño fue completamente al azar y con prueba de comparación de Tukey. Se utilizaron 12 ovinos, resultados del cruce entre ovinos criollos y de la raza Pelibuey, con un peso promedio de 20.05 ± 1.0 kg. La alimentación de los animales consistió en pasto, adicionado con Brachiaria spp., y una suplementación con 100 g de alimento balanceado comercial. Los tratamientos aplicados fueron: T1: 600 g de ensilado de maíz [EMA], T2: 200 g EMA y 100 g palmiste, T3: 400 g EMA y 100 g de salvado de trigo y T4: 400 g EMA + 200 g de ensilado de Tithonia diversifolia. Se analizó la calidad química de los alimentos suministrados y del suelo donde pastoreaban los animales. Las variables evaluadas fueron: ganancia de peso, consumo de alimento, eficiencia y conversión alimenticia, coeficiente de eficiencia proteica y bioquímica sanguínea. Resultados y conclusiones: en T2 se obtuvo la menor [P < 0.05] ganancia diaria de peso y peso final, con relación a T1 [234.4 g y 33.6 kg Vs 263.6 g y 36.3 kg respectivamente], así como el menor consumo de materia seca [1678.1 g Vs 1815.8 g respectivamente]. Los demás tratamientos tuvieron un comportamiento similar [P > 0.05] en el consumo total de materia seca y proteína. Las concentraciones séricas de proteína, albúmina, glucosa, colesterol, triglicéridos y calcio fueron similares [P > 0.05] antes y después de los tratamientos, mientras que la concentración sérica de magnesio, después de la suplementación, fue superior [P < 0.05] en T4 con relación a T1 y T2. Los suplementos como EMA, palmiste, salvado de trigo y ensilado de botón de oro tienen un efecto positivo en ovinos de ceba alimentados con pasto y Brachiaria spp. en lo referente a consumo de materia seca, aumento de peso y conversión alimenticia.

High-Quality ITO/Al-ZnO/n-Si Heterostructures with Junction Engineering for Improved Photovoltaic Performance

A heterostructure of Sn-doped In2O3 (ITO)/Al-doped ZnO (AZO)/n-Si was proposed and studied for photovoltaics. The top ITO worked as a transparent conducting layer for excellent optical transparency and current collection. The AZO/n-Si served as the active junction and provided the built-in potential (qVbi) for the photovoltaic devices. To achieve a higher open circuit voltage (Voc), which is the main challenge for AZO/Si heterojunctions due to the junction interfacial defects, the AZO and AZO/Si junction properties were systematically investigated. By modulating the Al doping in the AZO thin films via a dual beam co-sputtering technique, the AZO/n-Si junction quality was significantly improved with qVbi increased from 0.21 eV to 0.74 eV. As a result, the Voc of our best device was enhanced from 0.14 V to 0.42 V, with a short circuit current (Jsc) of 26.04 mA/cm2 and a conversion efficiency (Eff) of 5.03%. To our best knowledge, this is the highest Voc reported for ZnO/Si heterojunctions prepared by the sputtering method. The results confirmed the validity of our proposed structure and junction engineering approach and provided new insights and opportunities for ZnO/Si heterojunction optoelectronics.
