Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and quality of life during the first year of treatment

Abstract: Objective:to evaluate the quality of life of adult patients with hematological cancer comparing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation modalities during the first year of treatment. Method:this is an observational and longitudinal research with 55 participants. “…Para que o TCTH aconteça, é necessária preparação, denominada condicionamento, que considera a modalidade de transplante, variando as doses de quimioterápicos, além de considerar a fonte de células do doador (sangue periférico ou medula óssea), o grau de compatibilidade do Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA), a doença de base, entre outros fatores. [1][2] As complicações relacionadas ao TCTH se devem à histocompatibilidade entre o receptor e o doador, pois quanto maior o grau de incompatibilidade do HLA, maior o risco de rejeição, desenvolvimento tardio ou incompleto do enxerto e da Doença do Enxerto Contra Hospedeiro (DECH). A diferença de sexo entre doador e receptor, o regime do condicionamento e a fonte das células-tronco também são fatores que aumentam a incidência da DECH, que pode ser aguda ou crônica.…”
