Healthy aging and age-adjusted nutrition and physical fitness

Abstract: (154 words)The expected life span is gradually increasing worldwide. For healthy ageing there are a number of options that may be used including healthy dietary and exercise habits. To reduce or prevent obesity certain types of diet may be used that will also reduce the risk of, e.g., cardiovascular disease (CVD). “…Preservation of hormonal balance is the key to proper functioning of various physiological activities during the course of healthy aging. A large body of epidemiological evidence indicates that eating a diet rich in vitamins has numerous health benefits, as well as protective effects on the development of diseases, and results in increased longevity (Hammar and Ostgren, 2013; Park et al, 2012; Thomas, 2006). One such category of vitamins, vitamin A (retinol) and its derivatives, notably RAs (collectively referred to as retinoids), have antioxidant properties, and play unique modulatory and integrative roles across multiple metabolic and physiological processes (Bikle, 2012; Clagett-Dame and Knutson, 2011; Das et al, 2014; Manna et al, 2014).…”

Her geçen gün insan sağlığında egzersizin rolü ile ilgili yayınlar artmakta ve bazı hastalıkların önlenmesinde, kardiovasküler hastalık, osteoporozis, bazı kanserler ve bazı mental bozukluklar 10 tedavisinde ve hatta yaşlılığın geciktirilmesinde egzersizin oynadığı rol daha belirgin hale gelmektedir 11. Yaşlanma; kas kaybı, fiziksel hareketsizlik ve güçsüzlüğün artmasıyla karakterize olmaktadır 12 . “…To date, studies focus primarily on the healthy aging perceptions of policy-makers (Health Canada, 2002): researchers (Potempa, Butterworth, Flaherty-Robb, & Gaynor, 2010); and health professionals (Hammer & Östgren, 2013). In 2006, a background paper entitled "Healthy Aging in Canada" (Federal, Provincial and Territorial Committee Seniors, 2006) was developed to provide a vision for healthy aging by focusing on five areas for action including social connectedness, physical activity, healthy eating, falls prevention, and tobacco control.…”
