Hantavirus Species in India: A Retrospective Study

Abstract: Hantaviruses cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Europe and Asia. There are about 20 documented hantavirus species and newer species are being described worldwide, especially in non-rodent reservoirs, i.e shrews. Focus reduction neutralization test is the classical serotyping technique for hantavirus.
