Objective: to identify situations of pleasure and suffering in the process of training multidisciplinary health resident. Method: qualitative research, developed in the Multiprofessional Residence Program in Health at a university from the south of Brazil. Data was collected in 2013 through focus groups with nine residents, and analyzed according to a thematic analysis. Results: The situations of suffering were stimulated by negative situations undergone by the health workers such as difficulties in participating in other professional training activities, excessive number of activities the residents commit to as health workers, lack of knowledge and hindered integration in the areas of Residency. The situations of pleasure were a result of the multiprofessional activities developed and the resident's larning possibility. Conclusion: The situations of pleasure and suffering identified can help in the planning of institutional actions that contribute to a professional training process and the overall wellbeing of the residents.

Objetivo: Develar los significados que las personas con epilepsia construyen sobre la enfermedad y describir las implicaciones en diversos ámbitos de sus vidas.Metodología: Se utilizaron herramientas de la teoría fundamentada con la técnica de entrevista semiestructurada, realizada, previo consentimiento informado, a un total de 25 pacientes diagnosticados con epilepsia. Los resultados se devolvieron y se validaron con los participantes mediante un grupo focal y actividades de difusión.Resultados: Se obtuvieron tres categorías: La persona, El padecimiento y Las estrategias de afrontamiento. El padecimiento significó para los pacientes un obstáculo en varios contextos. La persona lucha por vencer el padecimiento y separarlo de su vida. El miedo fue una emoción transversal y constante en quienes padecen la enfermedad. La cognición y la racionalización fueron mecanismos de afrontamiento que se deben resignificar para ir más allá de la adherencia terapéutica. Estos resultados pueden aplicarse en contextos similares de enfermedades crónicas, específicamente, en el área de la salud mental. Conclusiones: Las personas hacen frente a la enfermedad a través de procesos de reflexión y cognición.Se espera que esto sea un insumo para el trabajo en los servicios de salud, en los programas sociales, en las personas y en sus familias.Descriptores: Epilepsia; Enfermedad Crónica; Atención de Enfermería (fuente:decs, bireme).

Strategies used by nursing staff in situations of workplace violence in a haemodialysis unit ABSTRACTObjective: To identify strategies that nursing staff use at a haemodialysis unit in situations of violence by patients during care. Method: Qualitative descriptive and exploratory research with focus groups and the participation of eight workers of the nursing staff of a private haemodialysis unit in southern Brazil. The data were subjected to thematic content analysis.Results: The adopted strategies are described in the following categories: Tolerating violence due to the patient's health condition; Working around conflicting situations and giving in to patient's requests; Adopting a position of rejection to violence; and Staying away from the aggressor patient.Final considerations: Workers and, above all, the institution in the role of mediator, must work together to prevent and discourage violence in the workplace. RESUMO Objetivo: Identificar as estratégias utilizadas pelos trabalhadores de enfermagem de um serviço de hemodiálise em situações de violência perpetrada por pacientes durante a assistência.Método: Pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritiva e exploratória, que utilizou grupo focal com a participação de oito trabalhadores da equipe de enfermagem de um serviço de hemodiálise privado do sul do Brasil. Empregou-se a análise de conteúdo temática para tratamento dos dados. Resultados:As estratégias utilizadas são descritas nas categorias: Tolerar a violência pela condição de saúde do paciente; Contornar as situações de conflito e ceder à solicitação do paciente; Adotar um posicionamento de rejeição à violência; e Se afastar do paciente agressor.Considerações finais: Evidencia-se a necessidade de mobilização coletiva dos trabalhadores e, principalmente, da instituição como mediadora, na busca pela prevenção e não propagação da violência no ambiente de trabalho.
