Milkfish is a brackish-water cultured fish that is widely cultivated in traditional ponds because the business capital is relatively small and the feed provided is only from natural food in the form of plankton. This study aims to determine the type of plankton in the stomach and the frequency of feeding occurence milkfish in order to determine the type of plankton preferred by milkfish. This study used a survey method. The composition of plankton found in milkfish consists of 8 divisions, namely Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Cryptophyta, Cyanophyta, Myozoa, Charophyta, Rotifera, and Arthropoda. However, Charophyta and Arthropoda divisions not found in the stomach of milkfish in the Probolinggo pond. The highest composition of plankton in the milkfish stomach in the Pasuruan pond was the Chlorophyta division (38%), while in the pond of Probolinggo, Bacillariophyta division (52.4%). Feeding occurrence frequency of milkfish is in the second pond 100% for the division of Chlorophyta, Cyanophyta, and Bacillariophyta. The similarity index based on the plankton composition in the milkfish stomach from two ponds was around 66.9%, indicating that the similarity of the plankton types consumed by milkfish was sufficiently high between the two ponds. Based on the results of this study, milkfish can be said to be herbivores because in their stomachs there are 99.8% phytoplankton and 0.2% zooplankton.

Terumbu karang merupakan salah satu ekosistem perairan tropik yang sangat produktif (Wilkinson, 2008). Komponen biota terpenting yang mendominasi pada ekosistem ini adalah hewan karang yang tergolong ke dalam ordo Scleractinia yang memiliki kerangka yang terbuat dari kapur (Nybakken, 1992). Peran ekologis yang dimainkan terumbu karang adalah sebagai daerah penyedia makanan, daerah asuhan, daerah pertumbuhan, dan daerah perlindungan bagi biota-biota yang berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang serta sebagai penyimpan karbon (Simarangkair et al., 2015). Coral transplantation is one of the rehabilitation efforts that can be applied to accelerate the coral reef recovery process. FABA (fly ash bottom ash) is an environmentally friendly material and is declared suitable for use as a coral transplantation medium. This study aims to determine the growth rate of transplanted corals as an effort to rehabilitate damaged coral reef ecosystems and restore coral reef habitat and biota associated with coral reef communities in Bama waters, Baluran National Park, East Java. The corals studied were Montipora sp. The research location has a salinity range of around 31-34 psu, temperature 28-30°C,100% brightness, turbidity (turbidity) 1.2-1.6 NTU, current velocity between 0.07 m/s to 0.31 m/s, and sedimentation ranged from 2.81 mg/cm2/day to 5.92 mg/cm2/day, nitrate 0.004-0.026 mg/l, ammonia 0.048-0.189 mg/l, and orthophosphate 0.008-0.028 mg/l. In general, the water conditions in Bama are still in quite good condition for coral growth. During the 4 months of observation, the achievement of growth in length and height of coral species of Montipora sp. reach 60.56 mm and 21.31 mm, respectively. The growth rate of the average length and height of Montipora sp. respectively reached 15.14 mm per month and 5.33 mm per month.
