In Purwakarta Regency there is a new area designated as a residential, commercial and industrial area, namely the Jatiluhur Estate Area. With the new area, it is necessary to know whether the availability of water can meet its water needs (water reliability) for the next 50 years. This research also carried out the water reliability mapping. Based on the analysis, both water availability with dependable discharge Q80% and Q90% overall and monthly, can fulfil the water needs of Jatiluhur Estate until 2070. However, with the regulation of water intake in the river, a ground tank is needed which takes into account the water loss of 19%, so that Q90% dependable discharge can fulfil the need while carrying out the regulation. From the results of monthly water reliability mapping, water reliability with Q80% and Q90% (overall) generate one color, four colors with Q80% (monthly), and three colors with Q90% (monthly). Whilst, the annual water reliability map generates one color for water reliability with Q80% and Q90% both overall and monthly.

The use of groundwater for drinking purposes is increasing along with population growth and the wider range of human activities that require water. Groundwater is used more often because it is more accessible than surface water. The quality of groundwater suitable for consumption as drinking water must pass physical, chemical and biological parameter tests. This study aims to analyze the comparison of groundwater quality at depths of 30 and 100 meters in the area of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar and determine its suitability as drinking water based on physical, chemical, and biological parameters. This research is an experimental study with water sampling collected at two different locations: 30-meter and 100-meter depth wells. In each well, sampling was carried out three times so that there were six total water samples analyzed in total. Data collection was carried out by observation and laboratory tests. Observations were made by looking directly at groundwater conditions to measure parameters such as odor, color, temperature, and pH, while other parameters were tested in the laboratory. The data analysis results showed differences in the values of the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of groundwater taken at a depth of 30 meters and 100 meters. However, the two samples are still within the standard’s allowable range of values. This study concluded that groundwater at a depth of 100 meters in the Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar area has better water quality than groundwater at a depth of 30 meters. Therefore, if groundwater at a depth of 30 meters is to be used as drinking water with good quality, it must undergo specific treatment.

Various factors associated with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in toddlers have been widely observed, but there are no studies using data from the Sleman Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS). This study aimed to determine the factors associated with ARI in children under five in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This research was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design, using secondary data from the Sleman HDSS. Data of 463 children under five who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were used in this study. Inclusion criteria were toddlers who have complete observed variable data. The variables observed were the characteristics of children under five, the attributes of the mother, the physical condition of the house, the use of mosquito coils, sanitation facilities, and sources of drinking water. The exclusion criteria were toddlers with pulmonary tuberculosis in the past year. Data analysis used chi-squared tests for bivariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The results showed that working mothers had a greater risk of ARI under five children with OR 1.46 (95% CI = 1.01–2.11), and groundwater as a water source was a protective factor against the occurrence of ARI in toddlers with OR 0.46 (95% CI = 0.26–0.81). After a logistic regression analysis was performed, only the drinking water source variable had a statistically significant relationship with the incidence of ARI in children under five with OR = 0.47 (95% CI = 0.268–0.827). Research on the relationship between water quality and the incidence of ARI in children under five is needed to follow up on these findings.
