Glyoxalase I Polymorphismus: Phnotypenverteilung und Genfrequenzen in Portugal

Abstract: Phenotypes of glyoxalase I (GLO I) were determined in 1,000 unrelated persons from Portugal giving the gene frequencies GLO 1 = 0.463 and GLO2= 0.537. Zusammenfassung. Phfinotypen der Glyoxalase wurden bestimmt bei 1000 nicht miteinander verwandten Personen aus Portugal. Genfrequenzen ffir G L O I = 0,463 und GLO2= 0,537 wurden errechnet.

“…The frequency of 0.227 as observed in Mongolians has been described so far only in Jews of Iran (Golan et al, 1979). The frequency of this allele among Negroes is around 0.28 and in Europeans is usually above 0.44 (Weissmann, 1979). In Siberian populations the incidence of GLO' ranges from 0.23 to 0.51 (Szathmary, 1981).…”
