In addition, previous research has unequivocally demonstrated the positive impacts of gender equality in leadership. The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare some of the real world implications of gender inequalities in… Show more

“…The majority of articles in this cluster address gendered dimensions of leadership, which is reflected in quite a number of contributions from Gender in Management. For example, Rubenstein et al (2020) argued that the COVID-19 has been especially catastrophic for women, who have suffered more in terms of economic opportunities and additional care duties. “…Female leaders are more considered competent when they behave more communally, which is more concerned with relationships than achieving goals (Eichenauer et al, 2021). Through feminine qualities such as empathy, compassion, and listening, leaders can create an egalitarian and inclusive environment that is more communal, involving all parties including women in decision making (Kamani et al, 2020;Rubenstein et al, 2020). Feminism does not have to be done by women only, male leaders can also be feminine if needed because there is no statistically significant impact between national leaders' gender and covid-19 fatalities (Windsor et al, 2020).…”

“…Leaders are continually evolving new, imaginative and efficient ways to involve workers healthily during this difficult period. It is uncontested that successful leadership is essential during global emergencies (Rubenstein, Bergin, & Rowe, 2020). Blue ocean leadership (BOL) claimed was capable of improving leadership strategies so that all employees are interested in furthering their company forward using their talents and energy (Jian, Yin, & Awang, 2020a;Oh, Khoo & Awang, 2020).…”
