Gender identity in schizophrenia

Abstract

Sprawdzenie w jaki sposób osoby chorujące na schizofrenię przeżywają siebie w kontekście płci i jaki wpływ ma to na ich funkcjonowanie. Przegląd literatury dostępnej w PubMed, PsycNET i Google Scholar. Zgłębianie problematyki tożsamości płci w schizofrenii powinno uwzględniać wymiar zarówno osobisty, jak i społeczny funkcjonowania chorych. Badania nad wewnętrzną tożsamością płci nastręczają licznych trudności i nie dostarczyły dotąd wiarygodnych konkluzji. Pewne przesłanki pozwalają zakładać częstsze niż w populacji ogólnej występowanie dysforii płci wśród osób chorujących na schizofrenię oraz częstsze występowanie cech schizoidalnych i schizotypowych wśród osób z dysforią płci. Część chorych doświadcza objawów wytwórczych dotyczących zmiany płci. Dane na temat roli płciowej w schizofrenii wskazują, że pacjenci różnią się od populacji ogólnej w zakresie cech typowo kobiecych i męskich. Może to generować trudności adaptacyjne i negatywnie wpływać na interakcje społeczne, zwłaszcza w przypadku chorujących mężczyzn. Dotychczasowe doniesienia wskazują na swoiste trudności w sferze tożsamości płciowej wśród osób chorujących na schizofrenię.

Transsexualism or psychotic disorder? A case study
