Gateway–based Threshold Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering (G-TDEEC)

Abstract: Wireless sensor network basically is made up of several sensor nodes that sense physical quantities such as temperature and pressure in a physical environment, capture these quantities and relay the data to another node called the Base station(BS). The transmission of the sensed information from the deployment area to the BS has been observed to drain the limited energy resource of the sensor nodes. Some researchers are of the view that, placing the BS at the centre of the sensing field will sufficiently reduc… Show more

“…An enhanced form of Threshold Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering protocol (TDEEC) has been proposed in [30]. The algorithm, Gateway based-TDEEC, introduced a gateway node at the middle of the sensing area and then installed the BS far away from the sensing field.…”

“…Moreover, some existing methods include Wi-Fi-based long distance (WiLD) networks 19 and protocols. The protocols such as the fuzzy-based energy-efficient clustering-immune inspired routing (FEEC-IIR) protocol, energy-efficient centroid-based routing protocol (EECRP), 20 routing-Gi, 21 enhanced hierarchical clustering, 22,23 low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) protocol, and gateway clustering energy-efficient centroid-based clustering (GCEEC) protocol [24][25][26] are introduced. However, these methods have problems with data transmission and CH selection.…”
