Game Based Learning: Design a Multimedia with DDD-E Model for Mathematics Education

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to provide insight into how to design game-based learning. In the 21st century learning focuses on the process of skills in applying materials using technology, and collaborating. Mathematics learning is learning that requires students to not only memorize and read but also be directly involved in the process of finding concepts. Learning media is an alternative to creating interactive and fun learning. In this study the research design adaptation of the multimedia development re… Show more

“…Other studies have also given some criteria as a measure of the quality of digital game-based learning (perception, technology application, attitudes, personal characteristics...). In Baig's (2020) study, results indicate that video games based on the Math curriculum have a positive impact on student performance based on their average scores in standard tests, when compared with traditional learning methods [35]. Also applied to math teaching, it is confirmed by Wahidah et al that using digital games to design multimedia confirmed not only helps learners remember and read, but also helps learners participate in the process of finding concepts.…”

“…Wahidah, N. I. et al proposed learning media as a way to create interactive and interesting learning alternatives for decision-making, design, development and evaluation of multimedia development. the concept of game-based learning steps for mathematical subjects was proposed, and a procedural model was designed [13]. Cheong, K. H. addressed the current state of learning in the mathematical discipline of probability and statistics by providing in Excel and Visual Basic for Applications an original spreadsheet simulation program for numerical experiments on teaching strategies, allowing interactive discussions, modifications and extensions as well as further analysis and hopefully extensions [14].…”
