En general, estos estudios suelen estar basados en fundamentos marxistas (Becker, 2009;Howell, 2021), y específicamente de la escuela de la regulación (Jessop, 2011;, institucionalistas (Block, 2007;Streeck, 2009), o kaleckianos (Baccaro y Howell, 2018;Cárdenas, Herrero y Rial, 2021).
