Fourier-Transform IR spectroscopic investigations of Cobalt(II)–dextran complexes by using D2O isotopic exchange

Abstract: Co(II) ion complexes with reduced low-molar dextran (RLMD) derivativesMw= 5000 − 6000 g/mol, their FTIR spectroscopic characterization, as well as the spectra-structure correlation was investigated in this work. The samples of Co(II) ion complexes with RLMD were deuterated (D2O, Merck) for 2 h, at room temperature, in vacuum. FTIR spectra as an average of 40 scans were recorded at room temperature in the range 4000 – 400 cm−1. FTIR investigation of Co(II)–RLMD complexes by D2O isotopic exchange proved to be a … Show more

“…The band at 916 cm −1 was due to the asymmetric telescopic vibration of glucopyranose ring, and the band at 845 cm −1 indicated the presence of ␣-anomeric configuration. The bands at 916 and 845 cm −1 also indicated that the glucopyranose units in AWP had a C 1 chair conformation (Mitić et al, 2009(Mitić et al, , 2010Shingel, 2002).…”

“…FTIR spectra of RLMD and Co(II)-RLMD complexes were compared with the deconvoluted spectra of their analogues recrystallized from D 2 O [43][44][45]. FTIR spectra were measured in order to find the specific spectral peculiarities, i.e.…”

“…Bioligands or synthetic ligands are mostly natural macromolecular compounds. These products of special importance mostly represent complexes of different metals (Fe, Co, Cu, Zn) with ligands of polysaccharide type (such as pullulan, inulin, dextran) [43][44][45]. However, the native polysaccharide possessing antigen characteristics wherefore is not of pharmaceutical importance [18].…”
