Even though the plan affects streets in all districts of the city, its main intervention takes place at the Eixample district: an area shaped as an orthogonal grid of streets, resulting in equally sized 113x113 meter blocks and 20m wide streets, and characterized by a great mix of uses (Gomez-Escoda et al, 2022). The original plan, as drafted back in 2014, planned that 1 in 3 streets would keep car traffic, thus creating 400 x 400m superblocks comprising 9 traditional blocks.…”
