Show more

“…They found strong dominances of Myracrodruon urundeuva, Callisthene major, Cassia apoucouita, and Rollinia sylvatica, none of which was found at our study site. Haidar et al (2013), however, identified Caryocar coriaceum, Emmotum nitens, and Lafoensia pacari, all of which were also found in the present study. Therefore, as Ratter et al (1973) and Solórzano et al (2012) previously indicated, two types of cerradão occur in the Cerrado biome.…”

“…Beta diversity is also assessed comparing species composition among different communities (Magurran, 2004). Studies evaluating beta diversity for the Cerrado region are few and punctual (Felfili et al, 2004;Ferreira, 2006;Haidar et al, 2013). In tropical regions, similar studies focus on rainforests (Condit et al, 2002;Tuomisto et al, 2003;Davidar et al, 2007;Arroyo-Rodríguez et al, 2013).…”

“…In Tocantins State, the confluence of Amazon Forest and Cerrado areas are characterized by wide climatic and physical environment variations, and this diversity enables changes in the species floristic, structure and growth (HAIDAR et al, 2013;SILVA et al, 2006). Therefore, the studied cerradão showed a typical species of the Amazon biome (Mezilaurus itauba) and higher values of height (21 m) and diameter (65 cm) compared to other studied areas of cerradão (SILVA, 2009;GUILHERME;NAKAJIMA, 2007;SALIS et al, 2006).…”
