“…Sponge-associated bacteria require carbohydrate metabolic genes for survival and persistence. Species members of the genus Mucricauda have been isolated from various marine organisms, such as sponge and alga [7][8][9][10]12]. Therefore, the genome-wide distribution of CAZyme-encoding genes in the genomes of strain 2012CJ39-3 T and closely related type strains in the genus Mucricauda may be considered an essential property.…”

“…Recently, the genera Flagellimonas and Spongiibacterium were transferred to Muricauda and the genus description was emended [6]. At the time of writing (April 2023), the genus Muricauda comprises 37 valid published species (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/muricauda) and members of the genus Muricauda have been isolated from various environments including sponges [7–9], algae [10, 11], seawater [12, 13], sediment [5, 14], salt lake [15], coastal hot spring [16], tidal flat [17], shrimp gill [18], marine invertebrate [19] and marine snow [20]. Members of the genus Muricauda are Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic or facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped, non-motile, and contain menaquinone-6 (MK-6) and iso-C 15 : 1 G, iso-C 15 : 0 and iso-C 17 : 0 3-OH as the major respiratory quinone and fatty acids, respectively [5].…”
