Systemic sclerosis is a rare autoimmune rheumatic connective tissue disease, progressive of unknown etiology and variable evolution. Reaches vital organs and perioral tissues, causing limitation of mouth opening, stiffness of the articulators, face mask with appearance, difficulty in chewing and swallowing. Aiming to compare the pre and post intervention miofuncional speech orofacial in subjects with systemic sclerosis was performed qualiquantitativo exploratory clinical study in Rheumatology department of the University Hospital and Clinic, School of Speech Pathology, Federal University of Sergipe, from July / 2012 to December / 2013. The sample consisted of five individuals, of both genders, aged between 24 and 60 years and confirmed medical diagnosis of that condition. The subjects underwent evaluation by MBGR protocol and speech therapy (myofunctional and myoterapica), totaling 36 sessions. At the end, the initial and final results were compared from clinical indicators worked. After analyzing the results, improvements in all aspects worked were observed. The previous assessment of speech therapy revealed restriction of mouth opening in all subjects and the final results showed gains between 5.3 and 14.2mm opening (average: 9.26). Regarding tone, mobility of the articulators and orofacial numbness observed improvements and evidence of adequacy of oral functions. Can be concluded that although some patients still show changes in speech rehabilitation promoted significant improvements in clinical and quality of life of these individuals. Atinge órgãos nobres e tecidos periorais, causando limitação na abertura da boca, hipertonia dos órgãos fonoarticulatórios, face com "aparência de máscara", dificuldades na mastigação e deglutição. Com o objetivo de comparar os resultados pré e pós-intervenção fonoaudiológica miofuncional orofacial em sujeitos com esclerose sistêmica, realizou--se estudo clínico exploratório qualiquantitativo no setor de Reumatologia do Hospital Universitário e na Clínica escola de Fonoaudiologia da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, no período de julho/2012 a dezembro/2013. A amostra foi composta por cinco indivíduos, de ambos os gêneros, com faixa etária entre 24 e 60 anos e diagnóstico médico confirmado da referida afecção. Os indivíduos passaram por avaliação por meio do protocolo MBGR e 36 sessões de terapia fonoaudiológica (miofuncional e mioterápica). Ao término, os resultados iniciais e finais foram comparados a partir dos indicadores clínicos trabalhados. Diante da análise dos resultados obtidos, foram observadas melhoras em todos os aspectos trabalhados. The implementation process of mechanized systems which occurred in the last decades in Brazil has brought numerous benefits of profitability, quality and safety for forestry activities. However, mechanization can cause harmful effects to the health of operators, among which include the excess of vibration that is responsible for numerous disorders such as Raynaud’s syndrome. The objective of this study was to evaluate the degree of exposure to vibration of chainsaw operators in cutting eucalyptus trees on farms. Thus, a portable accelerometer with a triaxial attachment positioned at the fingers of the operators was used to measure the data. The methodology proposed by NHO-10 was used to classify the degree of exposure. According to the results, 55% of the operators presented above the acceptable levels of exposure, requiring interventions which enable reduced hand-arm vibration. The vibration effects were observed to be more severe in the left hand socket of the operators. Based on the obtained results, it is concluded that there is a need for preventive and corrective measures which reduce the exposure of the operators as an intervention in the design of the machines, more rotation between operations, and greater care with the maintenance of the machines, training and reduced exposure time.

Introdução: as doenças reumáticas apresentam manifestações musculoesqueléticas e sistêmicas que podem acometer quaisquer regiões do corpo. No caso das mãos, uma das manifestações é a diminuição da força de preensão palmar destes indivíduos. Objetivo: verificar os efeitos da cinesioterapia sobre a força de preensão palmar em indivíduos com doenças reumáticas. Material e métodos: estudo longitudinal e intervencionista com 24 indivíduos portadores de doenças reumáticas (osteoartrite, artrite reumatoide, fibromialgia, lúpus eritematoso sistêmico, esclerose sistêmica e dermatopolimiosite), com idade média de 50,23 anos. Os indivíduos realizaram 10 sessões de fisioterapia, baseadas em cinesioterapia, com exercícios globais e funcionais, 02 vezes por semana, com duração média de 50 minutos, de março de 2014 a novembro de 2015, na Clínica de Fisioterapia da Universidade de Passo Fundo, Passo Fundo/RS. As avaliações inicial e final envolveram a coleta de dados e a mensuração da força de preensão palmar, por meio da dinamometria manual. Resultados: observou-se que os indivíduos apresentaram melhora da força de preensão palmar, porém os resultados foram estatisticamente significativos apenas para a mão direita dos indivíduos com osteoartrite, para ambas as mãos dos indivíduos com artrite reumatoide e lúpus eritematoso sistêmico e para a força de preensão palmar geral dos indivíduos. Conclusão: o protocolo fisioterapêutico proposto produziu aumento da força de preensão palmar de indivíduos com doenças reumáticas.Palavras-chave: Força da mão. Doenças reumáticas. Fisioterapia. Reabilitação. Exercício. ABSTRACT: Introduction: rheumatic diseases present musculoskeletal and systemic manifestations that can affect any region of the body. In the case of the hands, one of the manifestations is the decrease of the handgrip strength of these individuals. Aim: to verify the effects of kinesiotherapy on handgrip strength in individuals with rheumatic diseases. Material and methods: longitudinal and interventional study with 24 individuals with rheumatic diseases (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis and dermatopolymyositis), mean age 50.23 years. The individuals performed 10 sessions of physiotherapy, based on kinesiotherapy, with global and functional exercises, 02 times a week, with an mean duration of 50 minutes, from March 2014 to November 2015, at the Physiotherapy Clinic of Passo Fundo University, Passo Fundo/RS. The initial and final evaluations involved data collection and measurement of handgrip strength using manual dynamometry. Results: it was observed that the individuals presented improvement of the handgrip strength, but the results were statistically significant only for the right hand of individuals with osteoarthritis, for both hands of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus and for the handgrip strength of individuals. Conclusion: the proposed physiotherapeutic protocol produced an increase in the handgrip strength of individuals with rheumatic diseases.Keywords: Hand strength. Rheumatic diseases.
