Fenilpropanóides e outros constituintes bioativos de Nectandra megapotamica

Abstract: Recebido em 19/5/08; aceito em 6/10/08; publicado na web em 2/2/09 PHENYLPROPANOIDS AND OTHER BIOACTIVE CONSTITUENTS FROM NECTANDRA MEGAPOTAMICA. From the trunk bark of Nectandra megapotamica (Lauraceae) four phenylpropanoids, elemicin, isoelemicin, (±)-erythro-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,2-propanediol and (±)-threo-1-(3,4,5-trimetoxyphenyl)-1,2-propanediol have been isolated, in addition to 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid, (-)-epicatechin and trans-1(10)-epoxy-4(15)-caryophyllene. The diastereoisomeric erythro-… Show more

“…The occurrence of phenylpropanoids in N. megapotamica was reported previously, 14 in which elemicin and isoelemicin were detected from stem bark. However, in the present work, only a reduced relative amount (1.3-1.6%) of one C 6 C 3 derivative, safrole, was found in the volatile oil from leaves in February, being lower in August samples (0.4%).…”

“…12,13 Furthermore, recent chemical studies reported the isolation of four phenylpropanoids, one gallic acid derivative, one flavan and one sesquiterpene. 14 The antitumoral, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities of the volatile oil obtained from N. megapotamica also had been previously evaluated, but, the compounds presented in these samples were not reported. 15 Thus, in continuation of our studies about volatile oils from São Paulo city species, 16 in this work we report, at first time, the chemical composition of the volatile oils from N. megapotamica leaves collected in two distinct months at different hours of a day.…”

“…Previous pharmacological investigation using mice and rats have showed analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities for the bark hydroalcoholic extract of this species (da Silva et al, 2004). Additionally, studies have showed that the ethanolic extract from the trunk bark presents antioxidant and antimicrobial activities (Garcez et al, 2009), while for the leaf essential oil, literature describes anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities (Apel et al, 2006). Snooks (Centropomus spp.)…”

“…4 Its popular use as a disinfectant for wounds and respiratory diseases has not been documented in the literature, being obtained by popular information. Previous phytochemical studies of the extract of the trunk of this species revealed the presence of sesquiterpenes and phenylpropanoids, 15 alkaloids 8 as well as lignans with leishmanicidal, trypanocidal, 16 analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities. 9,17 From the leaves, neolignans with in vitro trypanocidal activity were obtained.…”

“…9,17 From the leaves, neolignans with in vitro trypanocidal activity were obtained. 15 Studies with the essential oil content of this species collected in the state of São Paulo showed that the essential oil has anti-inflammatory, antitumor and antimicrobial activity against E. aureus. 17 As in previous studies, 17,18 most of them carried out in the state of São Paulo, different individuals of the same species and region have shown variability in their chemical constitution.…”
