“…The results show that narrow-band cystoscopy improves surgical removal of bladder tumors, which reduces the frequency of early and later tumor recurrences. authors also showed it was feasible to perform TUR using only NBI cystoscopy [7]. Reliable identification of all neoplastic lesions and feasibility of TURs assisted by NBI might logically reduce the frequency of early tumor recurrences owing to incomplete resections.…”

“…A total of 17 papers were considered for full‐text evaluation. However, two papers were reviews without detailed data, one described a project that was not carried out, three considered the treatment of NMIBC assisted by NBI and WLI, two had no biopsies as a reference standard of diagnosis, one discussed a diagnosis using NBI and WLI at two different times, and one had no data for any outcomes of interest . In all, seven studies including 1040 cases fulfilled the predefined inclusion criteria and were included in the final analysis (Fig.…”

“…In our study the overall complication rate was 9%, substantially lower than the 27% to 33% reported for TURBT. 26 There were no severe complications. Together it appears that transurethral biopsy is a safe procedure with a low complication rate.…”
