“…Introducing copeptin in daily clinical practice gave the evidence which copeptin could act as a promising serum biomarker for diagnosing AVP-dependent fluid homeostasis disorders, such as hyponatremia and diabetes insipidus. Despite the fact that copeptin serum concentrations are quite variable and more related to osmolality, copeptin demonstrated significantly higher concentrations in different cases including myocardial infarction (MI), diabetes mellitus, kidney diseases, and critical conditions, which in turn increases the probability of depending on copeptin as an effective prognostic biomarker of diverse diseases [19]. The functions of copeptin as a biomarker in daily clinical practice is being highlighted through the following pages according to results obtained from recent studies.…”

“…Introducing copeptin in daily clinical practice gave the evidence which copeptin could act as a promising serum biomarker for diagnosing arginine vasopressin-dependent uid homeostasis disorders, such as hyponatremia and diabetes insipidus. Despite the fact that copeptin serum concentrations are quite variable and more related to osmolality, copeptin demonstrated signi cantly higher concentrations in different cases including myocardial infraction, type 1/2 diabetes mellitus, kidney diseases, acute and chronic heart failure, severe hypertension, stroke, pulmonary diseases, psychological stress, birth stress, sepsis, neurological stress and critical conditions, which in turn increases the probability of depending on copeptin as an effective prognostic biomarker of diverse diseases [19]. The functions of copeptin as a biomarker in daily clinical practice is being highlighted through the following pages according to results obtained from recent studies.…”

“…It is also a risk predictor for end-stage renal disease, coronary heart disease, and all-cause mortality in people with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) [5]. However, we have recently reported that copeptin does not appear to be a reliable marker for the screening of asymptomatic peripheral arterial disease in a population of patients with T1DM [6]. We here explore the putative relationships between serum copeptin level and carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT) in asymptomatic T1DM-patients comprehensively investigated for subclinical carotid atherosclerosis.…”
