Stunting is the nutritional quality of infants under five years of age according to age compared to the usual benchmarks according to the World Health Organization's Multicentre Growth Reference Study in 2006. The incidence of stunting in infants under five years of age is a problem that exists in Indonesia and is a major nutritional problem. Data from the results of monitoring the quality of nutrition in the previous three years period has the highest prevalence compared to other nutritional problems such as malnutrition, thinness, and obesity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation of the father's support and mother's behavior in Stunting Prevention Efforts in Tuntung 2 Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency using a cross-sectional design. This study was done on 135 mothers who have infants aged 6-59 months as respondents. The variables in this study were father's support related to stunting prevention and the dependent variable in this study is the behavior of the mother in preventing stunting. The results showed that there was a significant correlation of the father's support and mothers’ behavior in preventing stunting (p <0.038). To increase efforts of prevent stunting, it is hoped that fathers who have not supported their wives should be more concerned about their toddler's growth and health.

Stunting adalah masalah kurang gizi kronis yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya asupan gizi di masa lampau dan kondisi kegagalan untuk mencapai perkembagan fisik yang diukur berdasarkan tinggi badan menurut umur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung serta besaran antara peran bidan, peran kader, dukungan keluarga dan motivasi ibu terhadap perilaku ibu dalam pencegahan stunting pada balitanya di Puskesmas Nanga Mau Kabupaten Sintang tahun 2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif yang menggunakan desain cross-setional. Jumlah respondennya sebanyak 65 orang ibu yang memiliki balita. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Model (SEM) mengunakan Smart PLS 2.0 dan SPSS 20. Hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan metode Smart PLS didapat temuan bahwa variabel perilaku ibu dalam pencegahan stunting pada balitanya di Puskesmas Nanga Mau Kabupaten Sintang tahun 2019 dipengaruhi oleh peran bidan (16,70%), peran kader (21,35%), dukungan keluarga (19,66%), dan motivasi ibu (23,13%). Pengaruh langsung perilaku ibu dalam pencegahan stunting sebesar 80,84%, dan pengaruh tidak langsungnya sebesar 12,95%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa variabel yang paling dominan mempengaruhi perilaku ibu dalam pencegahan stunting pada balitanya adalah variabel motivasi ibu. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menyarankan, bidan dan kader untuk selalu memberikan penyuluhan berupa informasi dan edukasi tentang stunting, agar para ibu yang memiliki balita dapat ikut serta atau hadir untuk mendengarkan penyuluhan tersebut, sehingga termotivasi untuk mau melakukan pencegahan stunting. Peneliti juga berharap agar keluarga bisa memberikan dukungan emosional, dukungan informasi dan dukungan instrumental yang baik kepada ibu, demi terciptanya perilaku kesehatan dalam mencegah stunting.

Background: Nutrition in the first five years of life is very important because at this time physical and brain development is most rapid. Nutrition at this time will affect future developments (Data, Information and Health, 2016). Anthropometric monitoring is also needed, as an initial screening of nutritional problems, including stunting and wasting, to facilitate interventions to be carried out to prevent long-term effects and the next stage in the toddler development cycle (Ramos, Dumith and César, 2015). The research method used in this study was case control, while the research was conducted from April to September 2020. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between biopsychosocial and stunting in children under five years in the stunting locus area, West Tapalang District. Method: This study uses a case control research design with the number of respondents each as many as 57 people. The sampling method used is total sampling Results: There is a statistical relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting. The p value is 0.01 with an OR value of 0.38. Meanwhile, maternal height has a p value of 0.84 (OR 1.08), family support has a p value of 0.49 (OR 0.49), exposure to cigarette smoke has a p value of 0.09 (OR 0.31) and socioeconomic has no statistical relationship. Conclusion: There is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting. Meanwhile, maternal height, family support, and exposure to cigarette smoke did not show a statistical relationship with the incidence of stunting Key words: Stunting, Toddler, psychosocial.
