Factors That Influence Adoption of Cloud Computing: An Empirical Study of Australian SMEs

Abstract: Cloud computing is a recent computing paradigm enabling organizations to have access to sophisticated computing services via the Internet on a fee-for-service basis. It provides Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with opportunities to become as technologically advanced as their larger counterparts, without significant financial outlays. This paper examined the important factors that influence SMEs' adoption of cloud computing technology. Drawing upon aspects of the Technology, Organization and Environme… Show more

“…Surprisingly, in the case of the UTAUT model, we have noticed very few studies with organizational size as a factor to testify whether it matters in the adoption and implementation of technology. Importantly, large enterprises have the stronger capability of managing risk, abundant available resources, and robust infrastructure to adopt technologies than small and medium enterprises [76,77]. Askarany and Smith [78] and Ko, et al [79] argued that factors that are needed to adopt new technologies are widely available in large firms than the small one.…”

“…Coefficient alpha is the most adopted objective measure of reliability (Anthony et al, 2018). An acceptable α value should be higher than 0.7 (George & Mallery, 2009;Senarathna et al, 2018). The results indicated α values that satisfied the recommended value except for the digital behaviors.…”

“…Principle components analysis (PCA) with Promax rotation was performed on the collected data. Senarathna et al (2018) recommended the use of the 0.4 thresholds. Furthermore, George and Mallery (2009) and Pallant (2020) suggested two statistical measures to help access the suitability of the dataset; (1) Bartlett's test of sphericity and (2) the Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin (KMO) measure of sampling adequacy.…”

“…Literature review evidence that a few studies on mobile banking adoption in organizations used different adoption frameworks such as the TOE framework (A. Mohammadi, et al 2017;Senarathna, et, al. 2018;Khayer, et al 2020).…”
