“…Generally, metals have unique characteristics that involve reactivity toward organic substrates, variable coordination modes, and redox activity. For these reasons, the design of special coordination complexes, whichever as drug or pro-drug, is considered the main target to get a powerful tool in cancer diagnosis [5][6][7][8]. Based on the interface between molecular bioinorganic chemistry and biological system, the design of coordination complexes for cancer treatment in the current research is extensive in scope, targets multiple cellular and biological properties of many types of tumor.…”

“…The compounds were exposed to some volatile organic compounds (VOCs) containing nitrogen or oxygen donor atoms in the solid-state and their vapochromic behaviors studied using color changes, FT-IR and solid-state UV-vis spectroscopies. Heating the samples exposed to the VOCs for a few minutes at 100 °C regenerates the original material without degradation, even after several heating cycles (Tella et al 2016). Also, Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of mixed ligands, Riboflavin (HL) and 4aminobenzoic acid (HL1) were synthesized and characterized by percentage metal, infrared and electronic (solid reflectance) spectroscopies, room temperature magnetic moments, melting points and conductance measurements.…”

“…As part of our work on synthesis of transition metal complexes for sensing volatile organic molecules [16][17][18], a co-crystallised cluster synthesized from Cobalt(II) ion and dipicolinic acid is reported for recognition and sensing of methanol vapour.…”
