Facile Fabrication of a Self-Healing Temperature-Sensitive Sensor Based on Ionogels and Its Application in Detection Human Breath

Abstract: The biocompatible strechable ionogels were prepared by a facile solution-processed method. The ionogels showed outstanding stretchable and self-healing properties. The electrical property could revert to its original state after 4 s. The repaired ionogels could still bear stretching about 150%. Moreover, the ionogels exhibited high sensitivity and wide-detection range to temperature. The temperature-sensitive sensor could detect the human breath frequency and intensity, showing potential application in detecti… Show more

“…Nine ionogel elements with thicknesses of 1 mm, widths of 2 mm, and lengths of 2 mm were used as sensing layers detecting pulse conditions, and their fabrication process was similar to that reported in the literature. 52 Finally, the ionogel layers were packaged with Eco-flex to avoid external contact, which might affect their sensing performance.…”

“…For the contact methods, the main sensors used for respiratory monitoring are electronic sensors and optical sensors. Traditional electronic breath sensors are humidity sensors, strain sensors, pressure sensors, and heat and airflow sensors [13][14][15][16]. Compared with traditional electronic sensors, optical fiber sensor technique has many advantages in human health monitoring, such as the high sensitivity, resistence to corrosion and immunity to electromagnetic interference.…”
