Experimentally Induced Cryptorchidism Increases Apoptosis in Rat Testis1

Abstract: Although surgical induction of cryptorchidism in the rat is known to cause infertility due to disruption of spermatogenesis, the exact cellular mechanism responsible for the degenerative changes in cryptorchid testes is unclear.
