Exosomal long noncoding RNA HOTTIP as potential novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarker test for gastric cancer

Abstract: Long noncoding RNA HOTTIP plays important roles in the generation and progression of human cancers. Exosomes participate in cellular communication by transmitting moleculars between cells and are regarded as suitable candidates for non-invasive diagnosis. However, the existence of HOTTIP in the circulating exosomes and the potential roles of exosomal HOTTIP in gastric cancer (GC) was poorly understood. This study aims at investigating the clinical roles of exosomal HOTTIP in GC. Serum exosomal HOTTIP from 246 … Show more

“…Kong et al demonstrated that LINC00460 contributes to the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma by regulating the miR‐145‐5p/IL6 signal pathway. HOTTIP is considered an oncogene and a potential target in multiple cancers, including colorectal cancer, breast carcinoma, and gastric cancer . To the best of our knowledge, few studies have assessed LINC00443, LINC00472, WT1‐AS, AC016773.1, TRIM36‐IT1, and NALCN‐AS1 in cancer.…”

“…HOTTIP knockdown impedes cell viability, proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis in human cancer cells, therefore it is been identified as an oncogenic long noncoding RNA (lncRNA). In addition, HOTTIP overexpression is in association with poor prognosis in cancers . HOTTIP expression is regulated by miR‐125, miR‐192, and miR‐204 .…”
