Evolución de técnicas de diagnóstico de virus fitopatógenos

Abstract: Resumen. Show more

“…Advancement in molecular methods and the widening range of techniques have contributed to the GRP Germplasm Health Unit's advancement of the protocol established for CsCMV diagnosis by qPCR. This allows updating, refining, and using more efficient techniques such as qPCR when detecting any virus of interest [ 46 ]. The safe movement and distribution of germplasm are strictly linked to the requirement of diagnostic tests to determine the germplasm's phytosanitary status, because one of the risks involved in the transfer of plant material is the possible movement of pests and diseases to unreported sites [ 47 ].…”

“…Once collected, the nematodes were euthanized in a water bath (55 • C for 4 min) (Solidsteel, Araras, Brazil) and preserved in a fixed solution of triethanolamine and formalin. Subsequently, they were identified through examination of their perineal configuration, as outlined in reference [21], and their identity was confirmed using isoenzyme electrophoresis (esterase), following the procedure detailed in reference [22].…”

“…The cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) has only been detected using serological techniques like ELISA. However, these techniques have been displaced by molecular strategies that are more sensitive (González-Garza, 2017).…”
