“…The K cb and p values are equal to those proposed by Allen et al [31], K cb ini = 0.15, K cb mid = 1.10 and K cb end = 0.33. Slightly lower K cb mid values were obtained by Odhiambo and Irmak [52] and Wei et al [26]. K cb ini and K cb end reported by those authors are about the same as for the current study.…”

“…The peaks of ET values occurred on days which succeed irrigation events while lowest daily values of ET occurred on days on which there were no irrigations. The maximum daily values of ET (peaks) occurs due to increase of the soil evaporation, mainly during initial and crop-development stages when the crop do not provide full ground cover (LAI < 3, Table 2 and Figure 5), direct evaporation of rainfall or irrigation intercepted by plant canopy, and crop residues which occur for a very small period following sprinkler irrigation (López-Urrea et al, 2009a;Odhiambo & Irmak, 2012).…”

“…Therefore, the accuracy of irrigation prediction largely depends on how to acquire precise weather data for the following days. It is equally important that we should accurately estimate ET c by coupling reference evapotranspiraion (ET 0 ) with crop coefficient (K c ) for irrigation forecast [5]. The estimate of ET 0 is usually based on measurable and accessible climatic factors such as air temperature, solar radiation, and precipitation etc.…”
