Evaluation of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients Using Optical Coherence Tomography

Abstract

Ö ÖZ ZE ET T A Am ma aç ç: : Polikistik over sendromlu (PKOS) olguların göz bulgularının araştırılması ve bu ölçüm sonuçlarının sağlıklı kontrol olgularının farklı menstrüel siklus faz ölçümleri ile kıyaslanmasıdır. G Ge er re eç ç v ve e Y Yö ön nt te em ml le er r: : Bu prospektif klinik çalışmaya, altı aydır hiçbir medikal tedavi almayan 31 PKOS olgusu ve 31 sağlıklı genç kadının 62 gözü dâhil edildi. Sağlıklı kontrol olguları menstrüel siklusun foliküler, ovulatuar ve luteal fazlarında değerlendirildi. Olguların sferik ekivalan değerleri, görme keskinliği, aksiyel uzunluğu, merkezi kornea kalınlığı (MKK), göz içi basıncı (GİB), retina ve koroid kalınlıkları, global retina sinir lifi tabakası (RSLT) kalınlığı ölçüldü. Verilerin istatistiksel analizi bağımsız örneklem t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi testi kullanılarak yapıldı. B Bu ul lg gu ul la ar r: : Grupların yaş, sferik ekivalan değerleri ve aksiyel uzunlukları arasında anlamlı fark saptanmadı (p değerleri 0,877-0,927 aralığında). PKOS olguları ile sağlıklı kontroller arasında retina ve koroid kalınlıkları açısından anlamlı derecede fark saptanmadı. Bununla birlikte PKOS olgularının koroid kalınlığının, kontrol grubunun foliküler fazına ovulatuar ve luteal fazındaki koroid kalınlıklarından daha yakın olduğu gözlendi (p değerleri 0,910-0,956 aralığında). İstatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olmamakla birlikte PKOS olgularının MKK'si daha ince, GİB'si daha yüksek, global RSLT kalınlığı daha ince olarak ölçüldü (p değerleri 0,729-0,808 aralığında). Healthy control subjects were evaluated in follicular, ovulatory and luteal phases of menstrual cycle. Spherical equivalent, visual acuity, axial length, central corneal thickness (CCT), intraocular pressure (IOP), retinal and choroidal thicknesses, global retina nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness of the subjects were measured.
