We set out to assess the extent to which writing modality affects recollection in children and adolescents. We examined 10-to 11-year-old children's (N = 63) and 16-year-old adolescents' (N = 43) handwriting, keyboarding with a laptop computer and keyboarding with a touchscreen tablet computer or mobile phone in a within-subjects experimental design. Participants were instructed to write down stories dictated to them in the three writing modalities. Recollection of the stories was assessed using free recall of details in the stories. The results indicate that the writing modality affects recollection, handwriting leading to better recollection. However, currently, digital writing tools are inundating classrooms and workplaces around the globe, making their competent use a necessity in today's world. For example, in Finland, students are obligated to use a laptop in upper secondary education and in the national final examination. In light of the results, we highlight the importance of balancing the instruction and practice of different writing modalities. Given the limitations of this study, we suggest conducting a larger-scale study and further research on the educational and cognitive implications of using and learning to write using multiple writing modalities.

The main problem in student's literacy skills in the early grades has not been implemented holistically. In addition, the teacher has not used the right model in literacy learning in the early grades. The main objective of this research was to analyses the process of learning literacy in elementary school. This study used a survey method involving 48 principals and 148 elementary school teachers. Interviews were used as an instrument to describe literacy learning in early grades of elementary schools. Information obtained from the field is tabulated and presented. This research showed that the procedures or models and learning media used by teachers are different. Teachers have made efforts to increase children's motivation in exploring literacy learning. Teachers believe that literacy is a very important need for every individual. Literacy in the early grades plays an important role in determining students learning success. Effective literacy learning in the early grades needs to pay attention to the learning environment and material that suit the needs of students. A pleasant learning experience and adult support can have a positive effect on reading skills. This skill will greatly affect subsequent literacy skills. If literacy learning in the initial class is not strong, it will be difficult for students to build a foundation for literacy in higher grades.

Indonesia with a variety of tribes and cultural diversity also has a variety of traditional ceremonial rites. The city of Blitar as part of this country also has various rites, one of which is Grebeg Pancasila. The purpose of this research is to describe multiliteration in the Grebeg Pancasila rite in order to preserve the history of the birth of the Pancasila. The approach and type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative with the library research method (library research). Multiliteration which is examined in the Grebeg Pancasila rite includes religion literacy, cultural literacy, human literacy, beauty literacy, media and technology literacy, number literacy, economic literacy, reading literacy, communication literacy and others. This is an action taken to commemorate and preserve the spirit of struggle in upholding Pancasila as the philosophy of life of the Indonesian people.
