Poverty is one of the complex problems in society. The factor is the low level of public education, giving rise to various social problems, such as unemployment and dropping out of school, such as unemployment and dropping out of school. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the mentoring program in fostering and empowering LAZ Ulil Albab educational scholarship recipients aim to raise the dignity of the underprivileged to be more independent. This type of research is qualitative in a descriptive approach and is field research. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The theory used in this study uses social exchange theory and compliance theory. The results obtained, the stages in changing the behavior, mindset, and educating the independence of scholarship participants are very effectively carried out by communicators with intensive coaching methods, namely the provision of intensive Islamic material, life skills training, and empowerment of LAZ Ulil Albab scholarship participants in social activities.

The good character of public university students contributes to anticipating the potential for nation’s moral degradation. Islamic character education, which is believed to be closely related to controlling daily moral ethics, is taught through Islamic religious as well as personality development lectures. This study aims to analyze the educational model of forming Islamic character for students in search for the best strategy to build the students’ piety in expressing Islamic character. A total of 529 undergraduate students in the second semester of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University of Malang, Indonesia became the respondents of the study. They have had the experience in attending Islamic religious lectures and involved in religious activities. WarpPLS software is used to analyze the structural model of students’ Islamic character development (IC) which involves the roles of religious lectures (RL), non-religious lectures (NRL), and mentoring programs (MP). The results showed that the highest direct correlation path coefficient was found in MP to IC (0.413; P<0.001) compared to the others: RL to IC mediated by MP (0.347; P<0.001) and NRL to IC mediated by RL and followed by MP mediation (0.254; P<0.001). The results of the study concluded that the mentoring programs (MP) had the most influence in building the students’ Islamic character (IC).

Abstract. The role of the family is crucial in the spiritual education of the child because the family is the first education for his children, especially the parents. The role of parents, therefore, is to provide a good education, which can strengthen their faith and their morals and thus strengthen their religious commitment. The purpose of this study is to know: (1). The opinion of the mufascists as to the content of qs. Al-baqarah verse 31-33, (2). Al-baqarah verse 31-33, (3). Religious commitment based on expert opinion, (4). Al-baqarah 31-33. The method used is the study of literature with a descriptive, qualitative approach. The results of this research reveal that within qs. Al-baqarah verse 31-33 explains that god is the source of learning, including that which is on the earth earth entirely, god created as the source of learning for man to understand and master. In essence it is the generosity of god, the facility which god has given us to learn in order for man to understand so that man can manage the earth. Even so, parents have been given facilities by god almighty to teach their children according to islamic Islam, primarily as a child's spiritual education to strengthen his religious commitment. Abstrak. Peran keluarga sangatlah penting dalam pendidikan spiritual anak karena keluarga merupakan pendidikan pertama bagi anak-anaknya terutama orang tua. Oleh karena itu, peran orang tua yaitu memberikan pendidikan yang baik, yang dapat memperkuat keimanannya dan akhlaknya sehingga kuat pula komitmen beragamanya. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1). pendapat para mufassir mengenai isi kandungan QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 31-33, (2). esensi pada QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 31-33, (3). komitmen beragama berdasarkan pendapat para ahli, (4). implikasi pendidikan yang terkandung dalam QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 31-33. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa di dalam QS. Al-Baqarah ayat 31-33 menjelaskan bahwa Allah Swt adalah sumber ilmu, termasuk apa yang ada di muka bumi ini seluruhnya Allah ciptakan sebagai sumber ilmu agar manusia memahami dan menguasainya. Pada hakikatnya hal tersebut adalah kemurahan Allah, fasilitas yang diberikan oleh Allah Swt untuk di pelajari agar manusia memiliki pemahaman sehingga manusia bisa mengelola bumi. Begitu pun dengan orang tua telah diberikan fasilitas oleh Allah Swt sehingga dapat mengajarkan anak-anaknya sesuai dengan syari’at Islam terutama yaitu pendidikan spiritual anak agar semakin kuat komitmen beragamanya.
